Lander New Year's Eve Celebration and Community Awards
You are invited! December 31, to the Lander Community Center, doors open at 7:30 p.m. Cocktail hour will be followed by the Community Awards at 8:30. Come enjoy music, food and fun with friends and neighbors. A free Designated Driver service is provided. Nominations for the Community Awards are accepted for Anchor, Spirit of Lander, Rookie of the Year, and Beautification. Fremont Toyota Lander Brew Festival
The Lander Brew Festival enjoyed its inaugural year in 2003. Each year’s festival features great entertainment and food. Visitors can enjoy unlimited samples of over 50 brews from 15 of the Rocky Mountain Region's finest breweries. The annual Lander Brew Festival is an occasion you won’t want to miss in 2010! Heart of the West Art Sale and Show
Each October Lander hosts the Heart of the West Invitational Art Show and The Cowboy Gear Exhibition. The weekend promises to be spectacular with various events such as a Fine Art exhibition, Main Street Art Walk, Fur Felt & Denim Ball, single-malt scotch tasting, wine tasting and fix-priced sale. Local artists are also active in the event with a quick draw competition. A western quilt show will take place at the Museum of the American West.
The International Climbers Festival
Is held the second weekend in July, bringing climbers and outdoor enthusiasts from around the world to Lander to try their skill at climbing and to enjoy world-famous speakers, slide-shows, film festival and other entertainment.
The Annual One Shot Antelope Hunt
The One Shot Antelope Hunt is the premier wild game hunt of its kind in the world. For over 60 years, Lander has hosted this famous event every September. For more information and upcoming events, please visit their website.
Pioneer Days Parade and Rodeo
The Pioneer Days Parade and Rodeo is held every July 3 and 4. This year's celebration marks the 115th event. The two-day rodeo is the oldest paid rodeo in the world. The 4th of July parade has over 100 entries drawing spectators from around the state. After enjoying buffalo barbecue at City Park see the spectacular fireworks display to complete the day. Tickets for the barbecue and rodeo are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce or at the gate.
Sinks Canyon Speakers Series
Sinks Canyon Speakers Series programs are held on Tuesdays throughout the summer and feature a variety of topics regarding wildlife, history, and geology. The programs are held in the Visitor's Center in the wonderful Sinks Canyon State Park. Check the calender of events for specific dates and topics.
Shoshone and Arapaho Indian Pow Wows
Pow Wows are family cultural celebrations but are open to the public and held from May through September. Native American pow wows such as the Yellow Calf Memorial, Eastern Shoshone Treaty Days, Northern Arapaho Tribal Celebration, and the Big Wind Powwow are big celebrations that draw competitors from all over the country. There are numerous small powwows as well as interpretive programs that feature Native dancing at the Museum of the American West and at the Wind River Casino. The 2010 schedule will be out in the late spring or early summer.
The Wyoming State Winter Fair
The Wyoming State Winter Fair is held in Lander every March and is Wyoming's only winter fair. Events include horse, cattle, sheep, livestock and dog shows; a business fair; major entertainers and a dance.
Wind River 4x4 Association Show & Rally

The International Rocky Mountain Stage Stop Sled Dog Race
Begins at the end of January and follows the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail through Lander and other Wyoming communities. The "Race to Immunize" is a spectator-friendly event and draws top mushers from around the world.
